On Tuesday 15^th March, the SHARE With Schools team from Cardiff University visited Fitzalan and delivered fascinating lessons for some of our Year 7 classes. 

The team told the classes about the work of an archaeologist with ‘hands on’ demonstrations of the equipment used.  The classes also learnt about the Iron Age and Roman Wales.  They particularly enjoyed handling genuine pottery sherds, some of which were 2000 years old. 

A further highlight was trying on a Roman soldier’s helmet and handing a sword.  The Year 7 pupils thoroughly enjoyed their lessons and the history department look forward to welcoming the SHARE With Schools team back again soon.
