Earlier in Spring, Miss Millard and Miss Purcell took a group of Year 11 and Year 12 students to Cardiff University for a bespoke lecture and workshop series on Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes - discussing their poetry collections and lives.
Our pupils behaved exceptionally well, listening to the wealth of insight from the lecturers and PHD students. They engaged with a series of creative, analytical poetry workshops, conveying their own thoughts and ideas with incredible insight and maturity, dealing with the complex issues that the poems raise.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and inspired and enthused our Year 11s for their English Literature A-Level to come, and further motivated our Year 12s with their learning journey.
Thank you to Cardiff University, we very much look forward to returning again soon!
