Coronation Assemblies and Coronation Garden Party

In the week leading up to the historic Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, all year groups had an assembly led by the history department.  The assembly included lots of history and things to look out for and also controversies and different opinions about the Coronation.

On Friday 5th May a number of pupils from each year group were invited to a garden party to celebrate the forthcoming Coronation of King Charles III.  Unfortunately, the weather meant that there needed to be a last minute change of venue but the rain didn’t dampen our enthusiasm.

Upper School Hall was quickly bedecked with bunting and a splendid buffet including coronation chicken sandwiches and scones with jam and cream was laid out.  Pupils (and staff!) enjoyed traditional party games and everyone was given a commemorative badge.

The afternoon was great fun and a suitable start to the weekend of celebrations.  Thank you to everyone involved in making the party a success.
