The 2023/2024 academic year has seen Fitzalan's year 8 boys football team share success together on the pitch. Coached by Mr C Williams, the team have developed immensely over the course of the year and have demonstrated brilliant teamwork and dedication. 

Having lost their first match of the season, the year 8 football team then went on to finish the season unbeaten. Their results in the league (8 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss) demonstrate a meteoric rise in performance and confidence which is a testament to the pupil's resilience and commitment to turning up week in week out to training every Monday after school and matches during the school week. There have been 55 goals scored this season by 12 different scorers across the league and cup competitions which shows the strength throughout the entire squad, who have all individually played their part. The magnificent run of results meant that they have been crowned champions of their league and the team also reached the final of the Cardiff and Vale plate which is an exceptional achievement that Mr Williams and the school are very proud of.  A reward assembly recognising the achievements of the team along with league medal presentation will be held during the summer term to acknowledge this wonderful achievement.

The team have already shown their desire to continue the success together into the future and look forward to competing as defending league champions during the next academic year.
