On Thursday 30th January the English department took 11 year 12 and 13 pupils who study A Level English Literature to see a production of Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ in the Theatre Royal, Covent Garden, London.

The play is one of the A Level set texts so it was a great opportunity for pupils to consolidate their knowledge and understanding ahead of their A Level examinations. The theatre was beautiful and the setting of the play in a kind of science fiction wasteland was an interesting take on Shakespeare’s work!

We also had time to take in some of the sights of Leicester square, Piccadilly Circus and a walk along the Thames. We had such a lovely day!
