Blood Brothers
On Wednesday 30th of November, 45 Year 11 Pupils walked to Wales Millennium Centre to enjoy a performance of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers. The play, which is a core GCSE Literature text, tells the story of twin brothers separated at birth. One goes on to live a life of luxury and privilege, while the other struggles in impoverished 1960s Liverpool. The play explores themes such as class, superstition, violence and friendship.
The pupils enjoyed the experience and for many it was their first time attending a live theatrical performance!
Pupils left feeling inspired, motivated and looking forward to studying the text in detail with their English teachers after the Christmas holidays.
