Lliswerry High School

On Wednesday 7th February, Roma pupils from Lliswerry High School visited Fitzalan Roma Pupils.

This meeting was about making links, sharing ideas and exchanging experiences. The visit started with some members of Roma Band led by Miss Davies and they put on a great performance in the 6th form foyer to welcome the guests through the main reception. The visitors then headed through the school to a classroom to listen to presentations about Roma Band, Roma Day and how they celebrate their culture. This was followed by refreshments where the pupils were able to chat to each other and make friends.

Lliswerry pupils were really keen for a tour of the school so this was led by Miroslav, Nikolas and Oskar who took their tour guide job very seriously! They were impressed by everything and loved the music facilities and poly tunnel in particular.

The next plan is for the Fitzalan Roma pupils to visit Lliswerry and hopefully have a collaboration between Fitzalan Roma band and Lliswerry Roma Dancers, resulting in a big performance for family and friends.

Big thank you to Miss Davies and Roma Band for their hard work!
