Guest Speaker - The Parkgate Hotel

Chef Deacon from Parkgate hotel came to visit 9G and 12B Food Science and Nutrition pupils.

He presented the class with a range of meat and fish products and discussed the different categories, what to look for when purchasing, cost and recipe ideas.

He then demonstrated butchery skills with a whole chicken and a leg of lamb before showing the pupils how to safely cook fish with volunteer pupils.

All pupils thoroughly enjoyed the session and took on board a wide variety of skills and knowledge with many of them continuing to use these skills at home.
