12 pupils from Fitzalan were selected to take part in the flag bearing before the Wales V Iceland football match that took place on 19th November 2024. The pupils who took part were a mixture of Years 7-9. 

This involved the pupils having to carry out the Wales and Iceland flags, unravelling them on the pitch in front of almost 30,000 spectators! (plus it was live on TV to many more). They remained pitch side for the players to then walk out onto the pitch for the anthems. 

Pupils were also given a tour of the stadium including a walk through the tunnel onto and around the pitch and seeing the players changing rooms and warm up areas. They were then allowed to watch the game with their families afterwards. The pupils were fantastic and are excellent ambassadors to themselves, their families and the school. This extraordinary memory will stay with them for a long time.
